‘MY SCHOOL CHOICE’ SOCIAL MEDIA CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES

EdChoice Kentucky, Inc. (“EdChoice KY” or the “Sponsor”), a 501(c)(3) organization, is sponsoring the “My School Choice” Social Media Contest (the “Contest”), a Contest in order to further its mission to advance education in Kentucky. The Contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances. The Contest Submission Period begins at [Insert] Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) on [Insert] and ends at [Insert] EST on [Insert] (the “Contest Period”). Twitter and Instagram’s database clocks will be the timekeeper for this Contest subject to Sponsors timekeeping decisions. The Contest is void outside Kentucky and where prohibited by law.
AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation constitutes submitter’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and legally binding in all respects.
PRIZE ELIGIBILITY: Only tax-exempt elementary, middle, and high schools in Kentucky (public or private) are eligible to receive prizes from the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to determine and verify the eligibility of winning schools. Acceptance of any prize constitutes a winning school’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Acceptance of any prize shall constitute a winning school’s agreement and consent to Sponsor and its designees’ use of winning school’s name, city, state, likeness, photo, avatar, and/or prize information in connection with this Contest (collectively, the “Attributes”), for promotional, advertising or other purposes, in any manner perpetually, worldwide, royalty-free, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, without limitation and without further compensation, notification, permission or other consideration, (except where prohibited by law), and releases the Sponsor from all claims arising out of the use of such Attributes.
PARTICIPATION: Participation in the Contest is open to all legal users of Twitter and/or Instagram. Participation constitutes a poster’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.
THE CONTEST: The Sponsor is promoting the concept of educational choice by asking Kentucky schools to encourage their community (parents, teachers and students) to post pictures on social media during the first weeks of the fall semester along with the hashtag #myschoolchoicecontest and the name of their school and city.
Sponsor will award a Grand Prize of $500.00 to the school with the most verified posts. The school with the second most verified posts will receive a Second Prize award of $300.00 and the school with the third most verified posts will receive a Third Prize award of $200.00. In the event of a tie for any prize or prizes, the corresponding prizes will be added together and split evenly amongst the tied schools.
All posts submitted may be featured on Sponsor’s website and other mediums chosen by Sponsor and may be shared with Sponsor’s and its designees.
Sponsor makes no warranties or representations whatsoever regarding the tax treatment of the prizes awarded in the Contest. It is the wining school’s responsibility to pay any and all applicable taxes.
CONTEST RULES: Participation will be judged based on the number of individual social media posts using the #myschoolchoicecontest hashtag and school name and city on Twitter and/or Instagram. Only post made from public accounts will qualify since the Sponsor cannot see posts from private accounts. Multiple social media posts from the same individual or account will be counted as a single submission. In order to be counted towards participation, social media posts must not contain obscene, offensive, sexually-oriented, defamatory statements, or in any other way not suitable to be published. Sponsor will verify each post’s compliance with these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify posts if Sponsor suspects fraud or if Sponsor determines there has been any attempt to rig the Contest. Sponsor’s decisions regarding verified and disqualified posts are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: All posts must be posted during the Contest Submission Period. Posts made before or after the Contest Submission Period will be disqualified.
JUDGING: The evaluation of social media posts will be conducted in two stages: (1) Review of all submissions to ensure compliance with these Official Rules and conformity with the theme of the Contest; (2) counting the total number of eligible and verified social media posts related to each participating school. Judges will be comprised of representatives from Sponsor. Chance and luck play no part in the selection of the winning schools.
Winning schools will be notified by email and telephone. At least three (3) attempts over two (2) business days will be made to contact each winning school. If a winning school cannot be contacted by telephone or email by Insert Date, Sponsor has the right to disqualify a winning school and to select, in its sole and absolute discretion, another school as a winning school using the same criteria that was used to choose the original winning school.
Potential winning schools are subject to verification by sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. A school is not a winner of any prize unless and until the school’s eligibility has been verified and school has been notified that verification is complete.
ADMINISTRATION: The Contest is administered and operated by the Sponsor. The decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding in all matters as they relate to this Contest, including without limitation, eligibility, selection of winning schools, and/or disqualification of posts.
